I just received this message from a lady researching the Harris Family of Big Cheese fame on Ancestry.com.

Hi Michael, in response to your query, James Harris is a 3xgrand uncle , he had a cheese factory in Ingersoll, Ontario, who along with several Cheese makers made a Mammoth Cheese wheel in his factory, to promote their cheese. He displayed it at the new York State fair in Saratoga Springs, NY, where he undoubtedly met your Charles Harris, he went on to display it in England and France. other than their meeting in NY,
I don't think there is an connection with the Wiltshire Harris Family. The Harris Family that I am descended from immigrated to North America from Gloucester to Boston about 1640, they then moved to Connecticut, where my 5g grandfather was born. my 4g grandfather immigrated to Ontario, Canada about 1812.

Sorry for the delay in responding,

 Best Wishes, Karren HIll
